Kuʻulani Keohokalole

Ku`ulani Keohokalole (she/her/ʻo ia) is an organizational consultant who works with leaders to grow their organizations’ capacity to be people-focused, culture-driven and equity-centered. She brings 20 years of community engagement experience to her work building community with and within institutions, and is a sought-after speaker on topics of diversity, equity and inclusion, social justice, indigenous values, organizational culture and leadership.

Ku`ulani was grounded in the traditional Native Hawaiian cultural practice of ho`oponopono by her grandmother, who was a community-based practitioner. The art of reconciliation, and making things right, guides her approach to facilitation and consultation with organizations, stemming from the belief that clients hold the answers to their own challenges, that who shows up and how they show up matters, and that waiting for the moment is key.

Ku`ulani holds B.A. degrees in Ethnic Studies and Women’s Studies from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, an M.A. in Education Leadership, Politics and Advocacy from New York University, and an Executive Certificate in Organizational Consulting & Change Leadership from Georgetown University. She was awarded the “40 Under 40” distinction by Pacific Business News in 2020.

In her personal life, she understands the nuances and dynamics of political life from the inside out, as the wife and former campaign manager of a sitting State Senator, and as the often-mediator between her three young children, ages 5, 8 and 11.

When the craving hits, and she can't go camping, Ku`ulani's recent hack is roasting marshmallows over the stove top.
